The Actors Center will host open call monologue auditions

DC-area actors will have the opportunity to simultaneously audition for dozens of directors and casting agents over two days in February. The 2022 Actors Center Monologue auditions will take place in person on Monday, February 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Silver Spring Black Box Theater and will also be streamed live for listeners who are unable to attend. The auditions will also be held virtually on Tuesday, February 8, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and via streaming for all listeners.

During the auditions, actors will have 90 seconds to perform a monologue of their choice from theatre, film or television. Auditions will be recorded for the purpose of providing all actors with a copy of their audition after the event.

Up to 234 actors will be able to audition over the two days. Generous support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities allowed the Actors’ Center to expand its annual one-day audition into a two-day hybrid event. Auditions for the AC monologue were last held in 2019.

Audition registration opens Monday, January 10 for Actors’ Center members, who will receive a link to register for a time slot and to upload their profile and resume. Registration will be open for two weeks. Listeners will also receive the registration link. Attendance in person on February 7 will be limited to 25 listeners. All in-person event attendees will be required to present proof of COVID vaccination.

Registration for non-members will open on Friday, January 14. If you’re interested in an audition but aren’t already a member of the Actors’ Center, follow this link to be added to the non-member pre-registration mailing list.
